How to Enable Ping in Windows 2008 Web Edition

The ping function is disabled by default in Windows 2008 Web Edition. If your dedicated server is running Windows 2008 Web Edition and you would like to ping or run a traceroute to your main IP, it is very easy to turn on the ping function. To start the process fiorst log into your dedicated server by remote desktop. After you have logged in open your server's control panel and navigate to the section that has Windows Firewall listed. Open your firewall settings and click on "inbound rules", fin the section that says "File and Print Sharing" and click the option to enable rule. If you require assistance or have any questions please open a support ticket from your myPingPipe client portal.
