If you notice that you are running out of disk space on your Windows dedicated server, you can free up some space by compressing files. One thing that it is important to note is that after a file is compressed, your server will have to first uncompress it before opening them again. This can significantly reduce your server processor performance during the decompression process, and for that reason we usually only recommend file compression for backups and data that you do not need to frequently access. Many of our clients prefer to instead add an additional hard drive to their dedicated servers, if you would like information on this option please contact your sales representative, or open a support ticket from your myPingPipe client portal, and one of our representatives will quickly respond.
